Lamphey II (67 for 10) lost to Saundersfoot (192 for 7) by 125 runs

Lamphey II's entertained unbeaten Saundersfoot at home on Saturday, their job made even more difficult with the loss of 6 regulars, resulting in the home side succumbing to a heavy defeat.

Stand in skipper Geoff Daye lost the toss on his Captaincy debut but still saw the visitors chose to bat, had Geoff won the toss he would have chosen to bat himself. With regular bowlers, Ike Skeels, James Skeels and Jason Griffiths missing the duties fell to Chris Forth who has come into form himself recently, young left arm bowler Guisseppe Trimarco, Lewis Haines and Maldwyn Llewellyn. As the home side toiled Saundersfoot proved that their position at the summit of the table is no fluke. The majority of the runs coming from Roger Stanford who remained undefeated on 81. For the home side some crumbs of comfort in Chris Forth who picked up 4 wickets and Maldwyn Llewellyn obtained his first wickets in senior cricket to finish with 2 for 36.

Set 193 to win Lamphey struggled to get any foothold in the game and with only Lewis Haines (31) reaching double figures it was disappointing day all round when the home side were skittled out for 67 in just under 20 overs. Sascha Dicks on his debut scored 9.

This latest setback sees the stags remain in 7th place in the table, the hope of promotion from this division diminishing every week as availability and call ups cause distruption to the side. On a positive note the Club is having the opportunity to blood new and young players, which will hopefully strenghthen the Club in the years to come.

Star Man - Lewis Haines - Just pips Chris Forth thanks to his 32 runs, 3 catches and a wicket.

CRYMYCH II v LAMPHEY II 7/6/08

                                                                                                Match sponsored by

Crymych II (195 for 7) drew with Lamphey II (109 for 9)

For a second week in a row Lamphey IIs were missing several senior players, however showed a pleasing resilience to deny Crymych victory as Tim Bourne and Luca Trimarco dug deep.

With Crymych batting first the home side racked up an impressive score of 195 for 6 off their allocated 40 overs thanks mainly to I Thomas Jones who top scored with 59 alongside C Nightingale (45) and J Thomas (21). For the Stags skipper Skeels was as reliable as ever taking 4 for 45 off his 12 with opening bowler Chris Forth taking 2 for 21 off 7 and Jamie Oatley claiming his first ever senior wicket taking 1 for 21.

A daunting score for the Stags to chase and things didnt get off to the best of starts as the top order failed to contribute, only Skeels senior in the top 4 got off the mark as Guiseppe Trimarco, Jamie Oatley and Scott Duffy were all dismissed for 0. Luckily for the Stags the middle order pulled their weight as James Skeels (21), Nathan Mounter (13), Chris Forth (14) and Geoff Daye (13) helped lead the fightback. However with wickets running out and overs ticking by it was left to Tim Bourne (12 not out) and Luca Trimarco (7 not out) to prevent Crymych gain a maximum and give the visitors the share of the points.

A pleasing effort made more interesting by a number of personal achievements - Jamie Oatley - first wicket for the club and James Skeels, Chris Forth, Geoff Daye, Nathan Mounter and Luca Trimarco who all scored their highest totals in senior cricket for the Stags.

Star Man - James Skeels - His highest senior score helped Lamphey to a share of the points.
