LAMPHEY II v
HAVERFORDWEST IV 26/7/08
Match Sponsored by

Lamphey II (56) lost to Haverfordwest IV
(202) by 146 runs
Lamphey entertained an
experienced Haverfordwest side who included ex first team star bowler Colin
Williams who despite not playing for some time still proved to be a handful as
he helped his side to a 146 run victory.
On the
home front a ten man Lamphey side fielded to the best of their ability and five
seperate bolwers found themselves in the wickets as Skipper Andrew Skeels took 4
for 38, 12 year old Scott Brunton took 2 for 3 off his first ever senior over to
the delight of his father Haydn who took 2 for 31. James Skeels and Maldwyn
Llewellyn both took one apiece.
With the bat only the two Skeels' made it
to double figures Skeels senior (15) and Skeels junior (14). The next highest
scorer was Guisseppe Trimarco with 7 and Maldwyn Llewellyn has still to break
his duck, literally, and get off the mark this season.
Star Man -
Scott Brunton - Took 2 wickets late on to
complete the H'west innings in his first senior over.
KILGETTY II v LAMPHEY II 19/7/08
Match Sponsored by
Kilgetty II (230) beat Lamphey II (41)
by 189 runs
A valiant
effort from a Lamphey side of 9 which included 2 injured players was not enough
to spare the Stags from a 189 run defeat to a Kilgetty side fielding several
first team players.
As a spectacle this result
was never in doubt, the home side fielded a strong side including several
players who have played for their first team. However, there was no doubting the
effort of all 9 Lamphey players and must be congratulated on the way they never
gave up. With Kilgetty racing to 100 off the first 10 overs thanks to R Beynon
(34), J Morgan (50) amd M Beynon (61), Lamphey showed a great deal of spirit to
dismiss the home side for 230 off 25 overs. Chief wicket taker was Maldwyn
Llewellyn who finished with figures of 5 for 47, his first ever fiver and who up
until last season had never played league cricket, also in the wickets was young
left arm bowler Guisseppe Trimarco who picked up his career best figures of 4
for 77. Chris Forth completed the wicket takers.
A target of 230 for 11
players is a daunting task however with 9 players of which one could not bat due
to a hand injury, a matter of pride was at stake and the Stags posted a reply of
41 before being dismissed, Chris Forth top scoring with 14 not out and Jonathan
Mathias 13.
Star Man - Maldwyn
Llewellyn - took his first five wicket haul in only his second season as
a cricketer.
**Due to an error in the scorebook, Maldwyn was
credited with a wicket which belonged to Jon Mathias. Sorry Guys!
