If you would like to go on a course please make it known to a member of

| KEITH EDWARDS
MEMORIAL GAME |
The
annual game to remember Keith took place on Sunday 21st August at
Lamphey. After a damp morning the sun came out and a great day was
enjoyed by all. St Florence batted 1st in the first innings and made 82
all out, the Stags in reply made 102 (with Luca Trimarco scoring 50)
The second innings the visitors did better and made 112 setting a
target of 91 to win off 20 overs. This was achieved in the 13th over as
James Skeels blasted a quickfire 39 to win the trophy for Lamphey for
the 3rd year running.
A bar-b-q was provided as was liquid refreshment. Many thanks to all
those who made cakes and to Dave Mathias for flipping the burgers.
A great day and a game Keith would have loved to have watched. |

| AN EVENING
WITH KING VIV |
|
You have the opportunity to attend
a special evening with cricket
legends Sir Viv Richards & Rodney Hogg to be held at the
Liberty Stadium on
Thursday 1st September 2011.
The
former West Indian and Glamorgan legend was voted one of the five
Cricketers of
the Century in 2000, by a 100-member panel of experts. He was also
voted the
greatest cricketer since 1970 by another poll ahead of Ian Botham and
Shane
Warne. That poll saw both Botham and Warne vote for Richards, and in
the
opinions of both, he was the greatest batsman of all time.
Sir Viv
Richards makes a fond return to Wales after guiding Glamorgan to a
famous
one-day trophy in 1993 on a memorable day at Canterbury when he
finished in
tears of joy.
Rodney
Hogg is one of Australia's great fast bowlers, up there in the pantheon
with
the likes of Dennis Lillee and Jeff Thompson.
The
evening commences at 7.30pm and will consist of the following:
Complimentary
drink on arrival
Two-course dinner
Guest Speakers: Sir Viv Richards and Australian fast bowler Rodney Hogg
Raffle and auction compered by Australian MC Justin Karcher
Dress
code for the evening: smart casual or lounge suit.
Individual
covers are priced at £55, or a table
of 10 can be purchased at just £475
If you wish to attend please contact Hywel Gibbs asap. |

| 29 JUNE 2011 |
| ORMOND YOUTH
CUP |
| Lamphey Youth
had a very good 8 wicket win against Haverfordwest in the 2nd round of
the Ormond Youth Cup. The Stags are now through to the semi finals
where they will find out their opposition in the next week. They will
be hoping to avoid
favourites Whitland who have already advanced to the semi-finals.
Further information will appear as soon as it
is available. |

| MARATHON MAN |
Club stalwart
Jon Mathias will be doing the Wales Marathon for charity on 5 June
2011. The race starts and finishes in Tenby going through Lamphey on
the way. Jon is running for a charity called Chernobyl Childrens
Lifeline which helps to bring children over from the Ukraine. The aim
is for the charity to raise £4,000 which will enable
ten children to come to Pembrokeshire for a month.
Jon is hoping that Stag members will help raise this total by
sponsoring his run. You can either sign Jon's form on a
Saturday or contact him direct on jonathanmathias@fsmail.net or on
07881 851215.
I'm sure you will all dig deep and donate a few quid to this worthy
charity. Good luck Jon. |

| LAMPHEY U13s |
| Lamphey
U13s played their first league match on Monday 16th May against a
strong combined Stackpole/Hundleton side which included several County
players. Despite the inexperienced Lamphey side only being together for
several weeks they must be commended on their performance. Batting
first they restricted the home side to 90 for 4 off 20 overs. In reply
the young Stags made 30. Although not quite enough for a win things are
looking up for the club and under the coaching of Jason Oatley
and they will be hoping to bag a first win before too
long....full match report to appear in the junior section shortly. |

| ADVERTISING
BANNERS |
You
may or may not have noticed that we have erected a banner for our main
sponsor Finning Cat on the fencing next to the scoreboard. At present
it looks a bit lonely so if you know of any one who wishes to publicise
their company on the fencing we can accomodate a banner. The banner
costs £35 to produce (for existing sponsors) or for a new
sponsor
£50 (which will include the sponsorship of one of the cup
games)
If you are interested or know someone who would be please get them to
contact either Hywel Gibbs or Grant Cole to discuss the design. |

| AGM MEETING |
Please note
Friday 25 February 2011 in your diaries as it is the date of
this years AGM meeting. The meeting will commence at 7.30pm in the
pavilion. Please make every effort to attend as there are numerous
items to discuss on the agenda.
If you know of anyone interested in playing for the club this year
please bring them along to the meeting.
Some of the items to discuss include captain and vice captain
appointments for both sides as well as the need to appoint a new
secretary and child welfare officer.
Discussions will also take place regarding the creation of an U13s side
to replace the outgoing U15s. The hope that the creation of an U13s
side will see at least 3 or 4 years junior cricket as they advance
through the age groups. If you have any cousins, nephews or neices who
qualify for u13 cricket please let us know so that we can gage numbers
and interest |
